资源简介:
This quasi-experimental research, pretest-posttest, two-group design, aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Neurocognitive Function Program (NCFP) among healthy older adults living in Chanthaburi Province. The total number of participants was 64 persons. The subjects were randomly assigned to experimental and groups (n = 32) and the control group (n=32). The experimental group participated in the NCFP program. Promotion and prevention dimensions were applied based on neurocognitive domains, including complex attention, executive function, learning and memory, language, perceptual-motor, and social cognition. The content validity of the program was examined by three experts. General data analyzed by descriptive statistics. The dementia literacy score means was compared between pre- and post-implementation using a student’s t-test for dependent samples. The mean differences of the dementia literacy means scores were compared pre- and post-implementation for the experimental and control groups using the student’s t-test for independent samples. Results: 1) the dementia literacy mean scores of the experimental group post-implementation (????̅= 125.37, S.D. = 10.45) was higher than pre-implementation (????̅= 114.25, S.D. = 14.80) which was statistically significant (t = 3.2, p < .001). The mean difference (D̅1= 11.12, S.D. = 19.62) surpassed the control group (D̅2 = 6.44, S.D. = 25.57) to a significant degree (t = 3.08, p < .001).In conclusion, the NCFP program was conducive to dementia literacy, help promote awareness, and prevent incidence of dementia among the older adults.
