Emergence, mortality, and biomass growth dataset for seven tree species sown and grown in a fully factorial greenhouse experiment to test the effect of soil microbiota (sterile and fungicide treated or live forest soils), ambient light (5% versus 40% daylight), and association to forest successional stage (soils collected from four forest stages).
