Beyond the Networked City: Informal Settlement Water, Sanitation and Energy Baseline Service Provision, 2020-2024

Beyond the Networked City developed a deep understanding of existing water, sanitation and energy service provision in two specific informal settlements in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and Kampala, Uganda. This was achieved through a series of methods, including household surveys, interviews with key stakeholders from the community, business and industry, non-governmental organisations, and government, and focus group discussions. These data provide an in-depth view into how services are provided in these informal settlements, and the challenges and opportunities faced providing reliable, resilient and high-quality services to informal communities.
