Natural product genome mining was implemented to identify a potential sesquiterpene synthase (STS) and a biosynthetic gene cluster (BGC) involved in sesquiterpene synthesis in Sanghuangporus. The synteny of the predicted BGC was comparatively analyzed among Sanghuangporus species, and the conservation of the STS across basidiomycetes was evaluated.
