We used PacBio sequence data to construct heterochromatin-enriched assemblies of the three species of the Drosophila simulans clade. To polish our assemblies, we sequenced males from D. simulans, D. sechellia, and D. mauritiana to ~100X coverage with Illumina. We then mapped male reads to the assemblies to correct sequencing errors.
