Validation of visual cortex models with respect to experimentally observed functional properties.

A green tick means that the model gives a qualitatively good match to experimental findings. A red cross means that the model gives a response which is qualitatively different from experimental findings. A red open circle means that the model does not incorporate neural structures necessary for this feature to be meaningfully tested. Empty spaces mean that the model was not tested for the property, and it is not possible with certainty to conclude from the corresponding paper that the model does or does not match the corresponding experimental data. When the species is clear, a dagger next to the model name means that the model was based on cat V1, whereas double daggers mark models based on primate V1.
