This pilot study aimed at a descriptive analysis of gastric microbiota in four healthy pigs and at identification of any differences among four potentially distinct microbial niches in the stomach: oxyntic area, pylorus, gastric groove and gastric content. We used Ion Torrent Personal Genome Machine (PGM) for 16 rRNA Hypervariable Tag Sequencing. Amplicons from the V6 hypervariable region of the 16S rRNA gene were sequenced on a 314 chip and analyzed in RDP pipeline.
