This is a 7-tiered bipolar rating scale for inpatients with epilepsy. The rating scale is useful for a assessment of functionality. It is based on behavioral observations during the own diagnostic process and therapeutic interactions. The outcome domains are compliance, affect, activity, communication, mobility, fine motor skills, and autonomy of patients. The rating ranged from -3 (completely impaired) over 0 (normal functionality) to + 3 (functionally gifted) and was performed according to predefined behavioral criteria for each step.
