Data on control (untreated) neighborhoods in The Tick Project for 2017–2021 for six neighborhoods.

Forest, Lawn, and Garden represent the mean number of nymphal ticks collected in each of the respective habitats, averaged across all of the sampled properties in a neighborhood, as described in the Methods. No tick data were collected in 2020. The total number of human and pet encounters and diagnoses represents the total for the entire neighborhood for a given year, with no data on these metrics collected in 2021 (details provided in Methods). Data on the number of humans and pets living in the neighborhood in each year, and the number of households enrolled in the study are provided, as is the average proportion of households responding to our biweekly surveys. The per capita rate of human and pet encounters, and diagnoses, is calculated for each year. For each neighborhood, we include the proportion of forested area in the neighborhood, as described in detail in the Methods.
