Operation Enrede - 1st Cycle

These data correspond to the solid waste collections carried out during the 1st Cycle of Operation Enrede (April/2024 to April/2025), in the Santos Estuary, Santos, State of São Paulo, Brazil. The collections are carried out in three different environments: an 80-meter-long ecobarrier, installed in the Santos Estuary; a remaining mangrove area monitored by the project, which attests to the efficiency of the ecobarrier in intercepting floating solid waste; a tributary channel, which runs through stilts and empties close to the ecobarrier; and the waste exchange fairs held with the local community of the Jardim São Manoel neighborhood. The data from sample collections using the methodology used by the Blue Keepers Program, of the UN Global Compact - Brazil Network, are also presented, the objective of which is to quantify the items collected, and consequently the accumulation of waste per square meter, and to identify the marks of the waste collected in the mangrove. For contractual and confidentiality reasons, the names of the brands were excluded, with only the number of brands identified being released.
