BREATHE/RESPIRAR: green barriers to air pollution mitigation in school playgrounds - Interviews from Buenos Aires case study

BREATHE/RESPIRAR research project involved undertaking a pilot case study on green fence implementation, as an air pollution mitigation measure, in a school playground in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Barriers and solutions to green fence implementation in a Latin American context were studied.<br>The data set presents 12 semi-structured interviews (in Spanish) with stakeholders and expert informants that helped us interpret the specific issues that green fence installation in the case study faced in the local context. Interviews were conducted between November 2019 and August 2020. Some of these took place face-to-face and some online due to COVID-19 pandemic disruptions. The list of interviewees comprises representatives from different city government units (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, and City Council), relevant social movements (environmental NGOs and grassroots gardeners’ co-operatives), project collaborators from the University of Buenos Aires (staff and students), and landscape volunteers. <br>The study was conducted in accordance with the University of Sheffield's Research Ethics Policy and approved by the Department of Landscape Architecture Ethics Committee of The University of Sheffield (reference number 031003, approved on 31/10/2019).
