Instrument for the paper “Language, Identity, and War: Investigating Multilingualism in Western Ukraine” and its quantitative results

These data were collected immediately prior to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in autumn 2022. Given the pre-existing context of Russia’s seven-year history of military aggression in Ukraine by that time it would now (and especially after the war) obviously show a significant difference, which is a promising target for further comparative research. The data include the questionnaire on multilingualism of Ukrainian student youth and its quantitative results. Structurally, the questionnaire is divided into blocks of questions aimed at, first of all, factual collection of information about the respondents (age, territorial affiliation – a specific region of Ukraine, rural or urban area, ethnicity, and languages spoken), situations of code-switching and language mixing, evaluation positions (defining the prestige of languages in certain areas).
