Response of Soil Characteristics and Bacterial Communities to Different Cover Crops in Organic Kiwifruit Orchard in Guanzhong Plain, China

In order to study the effects of cover crops on soil nutrients and bacterial community structure in organic kiwifruit orchards, we used clear tillage as control to determine the soil nutrients, soil bacterial community structure, and other indicators in the 0-20 cm soil layer of the organic kiwi orchard with three cover crops in the Guanzhong area, including Glycine max (GM), Lolium perenne (LP), and Melilotus officinalis (MO). We used LefSe analysis, random forest analysis, PICRUSt2 function prediction analysis, and other methods to analyze the effects of different cover crops on soil chemical properties, soil enzyme activities, and soil bacterial community structure and function.
