Coding Dataset for "From SDG Alignment to Transformative Agency: What Kind of Sustainability Citizen Does Türkiye's Social Studies Curriculum Envisage?"

This dataset accompanies the study “From SDG Alignment to Transformative Agency: What Kind of Sustainability Citizen Does Türkiye’s Social Studies Curriculum Envisage?” The dataset contains the final outcome-level coding of all 71 learning outcomes in Türkiye’s 2024 Social Studies Curriculum for Grades 4–7. Each curriculum outcome is classified in relation to SDG Target 4.7, learning depth, citizenship orientation and Transformative Agency. The deposited files include the complete machine-readable dataset in CSV format, an Excel version containing the coding dataset, aggregate checks and codebook, and a README file describing the variables and analytical categories. The final dataset includes classifications for SDG 4.7 presence and themes; cognitive, socio-emotional and behavioural learning dimensions; personally responsible, participatory and justice-oriented citizenship; and five levels of Transformative Agency (TA0–TA4). Brief coding rationales and official curriculum source information are provided at outcome level. The dataset represents the final consensus coding used in the analyses reported in the accompanying study.
