Galdieria partita is the unicellular red alga that inhabits thermo-acidic environments. G. partita exhibits diploid-to-haploid sexual life cycle with morphologically differentiated phases, with both phases being capable of asexual reproduction. In order to establish the Galdieria partita as a model for molecular genetic studies, we determined nuclear, chloroplast and mitochondrial genome sequences.
