Care living spaces; type of care living space, region

The table contains data on the number of care rooms on 1 January. Care living spaces are residential objects where institutional households live in need of care. These include care and nursing homes, mental health institutions, forensic centres and institutions for the mental, physical and sensory disabled. On the basis of various sources and regulations, it has been determined which residence objects registered in the Basic Registrations Addresses en Gebouwen (BAG) are used as care living space in the Netherlands. The data shall be broken down by type of care living space. The type of care living space is determined on the basis of characteristics of the building in which the care housing space is located. For example, the size of the property is broken down according to the number of residents (large, medium or small). The size of the property can also be broken down by type of building; the building consists mainly or partly of care rooms. In addition, it has also been determined which care housing areas belong to the housing stock or the non-residential stock. This makes it clear which part of the housing and non-residential stock is in use by institutional households receiving care. It is possible that (all) residents are registered at the address of a non-resident in the building. Furthermore, it is broken down by parts of the country, provinces and COROP areas. The table was commissioned by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). Data available from: 2018 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are provisional. Changes as at 31-10-2022: The preliminary figures for 2022 have been added. When will there be new figures? New figures are added every autumn. In autumn 2023, the 2023 (provisional) figures will be published.
