Sanger sequencing data of full-length and partial Mbp gene fragments

This dataset contains assembled Sanger sequencing data of Mbp (Myelin Basic Protein) cDNA transcript variants 3 and 4 and several fragments of transcript variant 3 cDNA encoding protein fragments 1 to 59, 60 to 154, 60 to 119, 86 to 119, and lacking the fragment from amino acid residue 60 to 105. The sequences were obtained from Rattus norvegicus Wistar strain and were used in the study “Amyloid fibrils of the Myelin Basic Protein are an integral component of myelin in the vertebrate brain” by Sysoev et al., submitted to Scientific reports, 2025. The data are provided in FASTA format. These sequences served as the basis for the analysis of aggregation of MBP protein fragments in a yeast model system. For details, see the associated manuscript.
