资源简介:
This collection includes data on the reasoning developed by Stephen Langton in Question 103 of his Theological Questions (Quaestiones Theologiae). The reasoning leads to the conclusion that Isaac, by blessing with the formula "may God grant you," did not intend to designate anyone specific with the pronoun "you," and thus refutes the arguments that Isaac intended to bless Esau, and thus did not bless Jacob, who was present before him. It is an example of the application of an interesting semiotic theory and a formulation of reasoning using it in biblical exegesis. The data includes, among others: 1) annotated text of the example, 2) specification of the elements of reasoning, 3) reconstruction of reasoning, 4) diagrams, 5) analysis of reasoning components, 6) identification of components (status), 7) analysis of the aim and assumptions of the reasoning, 8) observations and conclusions.
