Reasoning Questionnaire: Stephen Langton q. 103, Reasoning on the blessing given to Jacob

This collection includes data on the reasoning developed by Stephen Langton in Question 103 of his Theological Questions (Quaestiones Theologiae). The reasoning leads to the conclusion that Isaac, by blessing with the formula "may God grant you," did not intend to designate anyone specific with the pronoun "you," and thus refutes the arguments that Isaac intended to bless Esau, and thus did not bless Jacob, who was present before him.
