This project aims to investigate the population genomic diversity and adaptive evolution of Bahaba taipingensis, an endangered sciaenid species in the Pearl River Estuary. Using whole-genome resequencing and functional assays, we will identify genomic regions under selection, evaluate genetic risks of captive breeding, and provide scientific guidance for conservation and stock enhancement strategies.
