This folder contains comprehensive documentation on the DxFlow tool, including its architecture, mathematical foundations, and practical use cases. DxFlow is an open-source distribution system power flow analysis tool developed in the MATLAB environment.The first release of DxFlow supports both single-phase and multi-phase power flow analysis using the standard Forward-Backward Sweep (FBS) method. It also offers seamless integration with heuristic optimization algorithms, enabling users to determine optimal settings for distribution-level equipment such as load tap changers and capacitor banks. Additionally, DxFlow supports time-series power flow analysis for dynamic studies.The mathematical models implemented in DxFlow have been validated against IEEE test feeders and benchmarked with OpenDSS and GridLAB-D. Further, new test cases are included to demonstrate its versatility and effectiveness. DxFlow is primarily designed for educational purposes and early-stage research, providing a flexible and accessible platform for power system studies.
