Whole genome resequencing of African zebu cattle breeds from Sudan

This study involves whole-genome re-sequencing of sixty indigenous African zebu individuals from Sudan, representing the Kenana, Butana, Aryashai, Baggara, Gash, and Fulani breeds. The aim is to investigate the adaptation of the Sudanese zebu population to the extreme dryland environmental conditions of the African continent, addressing the question of the genetic origin and their ecological adaptations. The data are generated by Dr Hassan Hussein Musa from the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences, University of Khartoum, Sudan.
