Exome and transcriptome sequencing of the LNCaP and C4-2B prostate cancer cell lines.

We performed both exome and transcriptome sequencing of the LNCaP and C4-2B prostate cancer cell lines. The aggressive, castration-resistant C4-2B cell line was derived from LNCaP. Exome and transcriptome sequencing revealed numerous point mutations in both cell lines, of which about half are in common for both cell lines. Furthermore, transcriptome sequencing allowed the identification of genes that are differentially expressed in both cell lines.
