The 16S rRNA gene sequencing and multiple factor correlation analysis revealed the enrichment of Streptococcus, Rothia, and Corynebacterium could be closely linked to neonatal pneumonia. Microfluidic droplet cultivation enhanced culturability of marker flora compared to conventional culture and allowed for the growth of low-abundance species not easily grown on plates, to study pathogenic mechanisms and establish a basis for clinical applications.
