*CurateMake: an auditable workflow for multi-source ITS reference database harmonisation and phylogenetic validation*. Methods in Ecology and Evolution (under review). CurateMake is a Snakemake workflow that ingests ITS/ITS1/ITS2 barcode datasets from four public reference databases (UNITE, BOLD, PLANiTS, CALeDNA), harmonises their taxonomy against the Catalogue of Life, extracts barcode regions with ITSx, builds curated alignments, and validates taxonomic labels with SATIVA. This archive contains the data and scripts needed to reproduce the experiments and figures. ## Contents - **mini_dataset/** – Public demonstration subset (4,842 source records; 9,805 barcode-resolved entries after ITSx) with the source archives, the SQLite workflow state, and an export script.- **simulation/** – Error-injection benchmark (Fig. 3): Badread-simulated reads, per-scenario results, 20 ground-truth anchors, and analysis scripts.- **mmseqs_entropy_demo/** – Runnable intra-cluster entropy demo (Fig. 2): MMseqs2 clustering and entropy computation across the Raw, CoL and SATIVA layers.- **full_dataset_entropy/** – Full-size inputs behind the entropy analysis (Fig. 2) on the complete set (3,581,943 sequences): original sequences and the three taxonomy layers.- **sequence_flow_figure/** – Per-stage reports and script for the sequence-flow Sankey diagram (Fig. 4).- **supplementary_data/** – Source data for the supplementary tables (modification rates, inter-cluster entropy, entropy comparisons with Wilcoxon tests). **Software repository:** https://github.com/Aaramis/CurateMake **Licensing.** Dual-licensed (see LICENSE): data and documentation under CC BY-SA 4.0; source code under GPL-3.0.
