Water area canton of Schaffhausen

The Federal Water Protection Act obliges the cantons to withdraw the so-called water space. The water area is a corridor along the waters where new buildings and installations are in principle inadmissible and agricultural use is restricted. The municipalities in Schaffhaus must have the water area by 31. Establish December 2018 depending on the water width (Art. 41a of the Financial Regulation). Where the water area has not yet been eliminated, the transitional provisions of the Water Protection Ordinance, according to which a double-sided shore strip of defined width of buildings and installations must be kept free. In accordance with Article 41c of the GSchV, the authorising authorities may grant site-bound installations in the public interest within that transitional water area. This transitional water area must be taken into account for all planning and construction projects or to comply with it.
