Response to wounding in plants is a complex process that partially overlaps with response to biotic stress. Significant progress has been made in identification of rapid wounding response genes; late response, including recovery, is less studied. We performed RNA-seq analysis of gene expression dynamics on series consisting of six time points – 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 and 48 hours after wounding. We have shown that at earlier stages (1 hour) the number of differentially expressed genes is maximal, then decreases at 6 hours and increases again at 12 hours. Enrichment analysis indicates that at 1-3 hours after wounding pathways that are known to be involved in stress response are activated; at later stages – that of cell division, cell wall reorganization and synthesis of secondary metabolites.
