This study integrates petrography with in situ zircon U-Pb geochronology and Hf isotopes, whole-rock major and trace element geochemistry, Sr-Nd isotope systematics, and in situ plagioclase Sr isotope analyses of the tourmaline-bearing alkali-feldspar granite and biotite monzogranite from Tinggong area. These datasets are interpreted in conjunction with thermodynamic modeling to: (1) constrain magma sources and potential boron origins; (2) clarify petrogenetic relationships between the granite units; and (3) evaluate pressure-temperature-water controls on tourmaline formation, including derivation of a new crystallization equation for tourmaline in I-type granitic magmas.
