Osteoglossomorph fish are evolutionarily distant from most other teleost fish, such as zebrafish, cichlids, medaka and stickleback, but they share the same genome duplication event (known as TGD or 3R). To understand how fish genomes evolved after whole genome duplication, genomic DNA from a range of osteoglossomorph fish was sequenced.
