Investigation of factors influencing uptake of electronic collection and use of patient-reported measures in older adults’ care

The practice of electronic collection and use of patient perceptions of health and care experiences, also known as patient-reported measures (PRMs) is being widely implemented in routine care. However, the uptake of electronic collection and use of PRMs in routine care is suboptimal, particularly in older adults’ care. This research reports on factors influencing the uptake of the practice in older adults’ care from wider stakeholder perspectives in multiple healthcare settings, and explores implementation strategies from post-implementation healthcare settings. A proposed logic model of change has been provided in this thesis informing of key factors and relationships between these factors to consider in future implementation efforts.
