Fresh fecal samples were collected from ten female dogs with hound bloodlines (6.32 ± 0.17 yr; 22 ± 2.1 kg) fed five test diets containing graded levels of a fermentable fiber, soluble corn fiber (0.0, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, or 1.25% as-is; Roquette Frères, Lestrem, France) in a replicated 5 x 5 Latin square design (total of 50 samples). The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of increasing dietary soluble corn fiber concentrations on the fecal microbiome of healthy adult dogs.
