In 2020, the largest share of announced foreign direct investment projects in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were dominated by greenfield investments at a share of about 52 percent. Oil continued to be the backbone of the country accounting for around a quarter of its gross domestic product (GDP) in 2019.
