RNA-Seq of Solanum lycopersicum unpollinated pistil over an 8 hour time course at 37C acute heat exposure

This study explores acute heat stress on tomato unpolinated pistils. Using 3 naturally heat stress tolerant varieties and 1 control variety, this project seeks to identify the molecular basis of adaptations that mitigate the yield-damaging consequences of heat stress during crop reproduction. Here, we investigate the gene expression of pistils of 3 heat tolerant tomato varieties, Malintka, Nagcarlang and Tamaulipas. The Heinz reference variety was sequenced as a control. The varieties, Nagcarlang, Malintka and Tamaulipas have shown improved thermotolerance to acute heat stresses. We explore the gene expression profiles of these plants over an 8 hour time course.
