State of implementation of municipal acoustic classifications

The map shows the state of implementation of the acoustic classifications in the municipalities of the Liguria Region. The municipal noise classification plan is the instrument provided for by the Framework Law on noise pollution (Law No 447) of 26 October 1995, by which the municipalities divide their territory into acoustically homogeneous areas, on the basis of the criteria established by the regions and in compliance with the provisions of the DPCM 14/11/97 “Determination of limit values of sound sources”, which defines the acoustic classes and the relative noise limits. In the Liguria Region, in accordance with Law No 12/1998, the acoustic classification plans are adopted by the municipality and approved by the territorially competent province.
