Number of agricultural tractors

The vehicle fleet comprises all motor vehicles registered in Belgium on 1 August of the year. Vehicle types: passenger cars, buses and coaches, lorries, road tractors, agricultural tractors, special vehicles, motorcycles. Type of fuel: petrol, diesel, gas, electricity. Tractors are commercial motor vehicles coupled with semi-trailers (vehicle without front axle). Special vehicles are slow vehicles whose dimensions or weight exceed the maximum values normally allowed for the carriage of goods. The maximum authorised mass in Belgium shall not exceed 44 tonnes. Vehicles in this category may therefore drive on public roads only under very strict conditions. All motorcycles over 40 km/h, i.e. all motorcycles and most mopeds.
