Whole genome sequencing of Salmonella carrying dfrA12-aadA2 cassette array isolated from food animals, meat and human in Thailand

Salmonella is gram negative bacteria which is one of the foodborne pathogens that are suggested to include in the monitoring program of AMR. As for the AMR monitoring in Thailand along several years ago, the same resistance genes have been found among Salmonella strains isolated from different sources and location in Thailand. Furthermore, class 1 integrons with dfrA12-aadA2 cassette array that associated with conjugative plasmid, commonly found for a long time in Salmonella isolated from food animals, animal products and human. These finding highlight the circulation of the AMR determinants and importance of horizontal transfer of AMR genes among food animals, human and environment in Thailand.
