Manihiki Atoll, part of the Northern Cook Islands, is located between 160°57′13″W and 161°02′17″W longitude, and 10°22′12″S and 10°27′46″S latitude. It sits atop a submarine volcano more than 4,000 meters below sea level on the Pacific Ridge. The total area of Manihiki Atoll is 5.42 km², with a coastline stretching 67.09 km. As a coral atoll, Manihiki Atoll is composed of 63 islets (or motu) that enclose a lagoon measuring 9.4 km from north to south and 8.5 km from east to west. Among these islets, Tukao, located in the northeastern part of the atoll, is the largest with an area of 2.68 km², while Tauhunu situated in the western part ranks second with an area of 1.26 km². Two settlements are established on these two islets respectively: the Tukao Settlement at 10°22′31″S, 161°00′38″W, and the Tauhunu Settlement at 10°25′26″S, 161°02′02″W. The administrative authority of Manihiki is located in the Tauhunu Settlement, and the Manihiki Island Airport is situated in Tukao. The Manihiki Atoll dataset was developed based on remote sensing images from Google Earth, with its attribute data referenced from Wikipedia, the Cook Islands Atlas and relevant research results. The dataset consists of 23 data files, stored in .kmz and .shp formats, with a total size of 878 KB (compressed into 3 files, 367 KB).
