RNA-Seq analysis of brain transcriptomes of Temnothorax rugatulus queens and workers originating from colonies with differing social form and queen morphs

We try to study the effect of queen morph on other factors like changes in social form, reproductive caste differentiation and worker caste differentiation in the ant Temnothorax rugatulus. This is the first study to our knowledge to disentangle the two factors queen morph and social form and to investigate the effects of each factor as well as the interaction of both on brain gene expression in ant queens. Additionally, we show how queen morph affects gene expression depending on caste.
