Boechera falcata genome assembly

The goal of our study was to assemble and annotate the nuclear genome of B. falcata, perform a phylogenetic analysis using genomic data, and determine the putative relationship of this species with previously studied North American species. This paper is the first report of the chromosome scale genome assembly in Boechera genus, it presents the results of the full genome assembly of B. falcata to the chromosome level based on Hi-Fi sequencing and Hi-C genomic analysis technique, comparative genome analysis, phylogenetic analysis based on nuclear DNA, as well as a study of the chromosome structures and the location of ACK (Ancestral Crucifer Karyotype) within the chromosomes. In addition, alleles of the apomixis-associated APOLLO locus (NEN exonuclease) in B. falcata were studied and added to the phylogenetic tree of APOLLO locus isoforms of Boechera species.
