We profiled metabolite changes upon C.trachomatis infection in primary human cells in order to identify rewiring of metabolite networks due to infection. In addition, gene expression micro array analyses were used to determine concurrent transcriptional regulation. Primary cells were isolated from healthy tissue of surgery specimen taken from patients undergoing resections for bening genecological disease and cultured as described in the accompanying publication. Cells in 2D were infected with C.trachomatis serovar L2 and harvested at 24h or 48h p.i. Total RNA was extracted from samples and hybridized on Agilent-8x60k Human custom arrays as single-color hybridizations.
