Solar power cadastre Wuppertal 2022

The data set includes a tabular representation of all Wuppertal buildings and objects whose roofs are economically suitable for the operation of a photovoltaic system with an assumed output of 2 kWp. For this purpose, the well-suited, the suitable and the conditionally suitable roof area in m² is indicated. Buildings or objects with completely unsuitable roof surfaces are not included in the data set. The data set was derived by tetraeder.solar GmbH in September 2022 from the results of a model calculation of the Wuppertal roof area solar potential carried out immediately before on behalf of the City of Wuppertal. The data for the digital roof surface and irradiation model used here were the result data of a laser scan flight of the Wuppertal urban area by the state of NRW mainly in December 2020, to a smaller extent also in 2021. Therefore, the data set does not make any statements regarding buildings or objects built after this date. Through the service provider tetraeder.solar GmbH, the city of Wuppertal operates the map-based, interactive online information “Solar Potential Catastre Wuppertal” (https://www.solare-stadt.de/wuppertal/) with an assistant module for the configuration and planning of a photovoltaic or solar thermal system. For each suitable building or object, the dataset also contains statements on the performance of a photovoltaic system that can be installed on the suitable roof area, its installation costs, the electricity and money yield as well as the annual CO₂ savings achieved with the system. These figures represent the technical state and economic conditions of September 2022. In their future interpretation, therefore, the changes that are always possible in the meantime must be taken into account. Current calculations can be made in individual cases via the assistant in the above-mentioned application “Solar Potential Catastre Wuppertal”. The dataset is provided in CSV and XLSX formats as open data under the CC BY 4.0 license.
