资源简介:
This dataset contains Scanning Electron Microscopic (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopic (TEM) images of the smallest picoeukaryotic algae flow sorted from samples collected on cruise RRS James Cook JC142 between 29 October 2016 and 08 December 2016. Samples were collected from a depth of 25 metres from Niskin bottles deployed on a CTD profiler, in the vicinity to the tropic seamount, the North East Subtropical Atlantic. Samples were concentrated, fixed and stained before being analysed by a flow cytometer. Target picoeukaryotic cells were then flow sorted and prepped to be analysed by transmission electron microscopy at the University of Warwick and scanning electron microscopy at the Natural History Museum in London, UK. The datasets were collected as part of Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) standard grants, reference NE/M011186/1 FAPESP Marine ferromanganese deposits - a major resource of E-tech elements (MarineE-tech) and NE/M014363/1 How do eukaryotic CO2 fixers co-exist with faster growing prokaryotic CO2 fixers in the oligotrophic ocean covering 40% of Earth.
