Der Begriff des Ungeformten im potentiellen Raum aus der Psychoanalyse nach D. W. Winnicott trägt zahlreiche Verstehensmöglichkeiten für die Ausbreitung und Rekonstruktion psychischer Strukturen in der musiktherapeutischen Behandlung in sich. Anhand eines integrierten Fallbeispieles aus der Kindermusiktherapie werden diese Verwandtschaften hergeleitet. Dem Entstehen von neuen tragfähigen Strukturen des Kindes durch das reale Hantieren mit ungeformten Materialien wird dabei ein besonderer Stellenwert eingeräumt, insbesondere durch die Fokussierung atmosphärischer und beziehungsorientierter Dimensionen des potentiellen Raumes. Drawing from D. W. Winnicott’s psychoanalytic theories, the concepts of the unformed in potential space supports numerous possibilities in understanding the propagation and reconstruction of psychic structures in music therapy treatment. An integrated case study from the field of pediatric music therapy demonstrates this relationship. Special emphasis is placed on new and sustainable structures, through the actual handling of unformed material, when focusing on atmospheric and relationship oriented dimensions of potential space. peerReviewed publishedVersion
