RNAseq of lung tissues of high-altitude Tibetan pig and low-altitude Min pig

To investigate the transcriptome differences of lung tissues between high- and low-altitude pig, four adult (6 months old) pig individuals each from Tibetan and Min breeds were used and lung tissues were collected and subjected to RNA-seq. Both breeds included two female (none pregnant) and two male individuals. Total RNA was isolated from each tissue using TRlzol (Invitrogen, Burlington, ON, Canada). Sequencing libraries were prepared uing the TruSeqTM RNA Sample Preparation Kit (Illumina, San Diego, USA) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. RNAs with poly (A) tail were isolated from total RNA using oligo (dT) magnetic beads and was further fragmented. Paired-end of the library was sequenced on Illumina Hiseq 2000 sequencing platform with a read length of 100 bp.
