VPRS 9810 Subject Card Index to General Correspondence Files, Multiple Number System II

This series contains subject index cards created by the Premiers Department (VA 2717) from 1976 to 1982 and by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (VA 1039) from 1982 to 1994.This series was created to provide access by subject to the correspondence files located in VPRS 8197.At the time of the creation of a file, the file was indexed under one or more subject headings, eg. a file on the Agricultural Review Steering Committee is indexed under Agricultural Review and also under Review.System of Arrangement/ControlThe cards are arranged alphabetically by subject headings.The subject index cards were created as part of the recordkeeping system which included General Correspondence Files (VPRS 8197), a Proper Name Index (VPRS 9811), a File Movement Record (VPRS 9812), Correspondence Registration Cards (Not Extant), and a Strip Index of Authorised File Titles (Not Extant).
