Supporting Information for the manuscript “Flower colour and size signals differ depending upon geographical location and altitude region” by Garcia JE, Shrestha M, Burd M and Dyer AG. The submission contains a total of 6 files: three tables as comma separated (.csv) files and three nexus files (.txt) readable by the Ape package for R environment for statistical computing. Table files contain data corresponding to the different locations considered in our analyses. Australia, Norway and Nepal. In each file, species are arranged in rows and their corresponding characteristics along the columns each one identified by a column header: species and family name, x and y coordinates in the hexagon colour space, average diameter, altitude, and reference. The latter may contain either a URL address or a number code corresponding to one of the references detailed at the end of the file following the >> END OF DATA line indicating the end of tabulated information. NEX files contain commented lines and code allowing for the reconstruction of a dated phylogenetic tree for the Australian, Norwegian and Nepalese plant species readable by the package Ape for R. Data was validated using R version 4.0.2 (2020) for Mac and Ape v 5.0 (2019). Data were coded using UNIX LF line breaks in UTF-8 in a computer running MacOS 10.15.6.
