Enhancement of biogas production from vegetable waste by application of mineral fertilizers

The aim of the project was to evaluate the impact of selected mineral fertilizers on biogas production from vegetable waste. In was found that the application of a mineral fertilizer significantly improved digestion performance and the maximal methane and hydrogen yields were 420 mL/gVS and 34 mL/gVS, respectively. The application of mineral fertilizers influenced the microbial community of the anaerobic environments in the operated digesters.
