Once a landscape of interconnected wetland systems, Mulloon Creek now bears eroded gullies. Working collaboratively, this project will recreate wetland ecosystems, providing renewed habitat for threatened native flora and fauna. Aligning with protecting and conserving matters of national environmental significance (including the Green and Golden Bell Frog and the Yellow Spotted Bell Frog), objectives include: 1) improving creek condition and functionality (habitat quality, water quality and quantity, water flow); and 2) re-vegetating aquatic and terrestrial areas (including gullies and tributaries), creating wildlife corridors and vegetation linkages. Project activities link to all priority areas of Australia’s Biodiversity Conservation Strategy 2010-2030, helping to fulfil Australia’s obligations under the Convention on Biological Diversity.
