Afghanistan earthquake

Photo credit: ©FAO Afghanistan The earthquake that struck the central region of Afghanistan on 22 June 2022 impacted Khost and Paktika provinces. This StoryMap details the impact of the earthquake on agricultural livelihoods and food security across the country. The findings are based on the "Afghanistan earthquake impact assessment" which was completed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ (FAO) Afghanistan Country Office and FAO’s Office of Emergencies and Resilience in August 2022. Field data were collected between 23 July and 27 August 2022 in the three most affected districts – Barmal, Giyan and Spera – and have been integrated with remote sensing data.
