It contains 197 overnight polysomnography (PSG) recordings, encompassing data from electroencephalogram (EEG), electrooculogram (EOG), submental electromyogram (EMG), and event markers. Some recordings additionally include respiratory and body temperature data. All sleep stages were manually scored by trained technicians in accordance with the Rechtschaffen & Kales manual. This database is derived from two studies: one investigating the effect of age on sleep in healthy Caucasian adults (1987–1991), and another examining the impact of temazepam on sleep (1994).
