Seasonal active layer depth from a Mobile Instrumented System Platform (MISP) grid, Barrow, Alaska, 2016

Seasonal active layer depth measurements were collected during the 2016 growing season at each Mobile Instrumented System Platform (MISP) grid meter in Utqiaġvik (formerly Barrow) Alaska. At each meter two depth measurements were acquired, the date, start and end times, and the people present were also recorded. Depth measurements were taken on the north side of the grid in order to reduce disturbance of vegetation. These measurements are part of the Arctic Observing Network (AON) - International Tundra Experiment (ITEX) initiative and help to document seasonal changes in surface moisture and structure at high spatial scales.
本数据集采集了2016年生长季期间,阿拉斯加州乌特恰维克(Utqiaġvik,旧称巴罗)境内每个移动仪器系统平台(Mobile Instrumented System Platform, MISP)网格测点的季节冻土活动层厚度观测数据。每个测点均开展两次厚度测量,同时记录观测日期、观测起止时刻以及在场人员信息。为降低对植被的干扰,所有厚度观测均在网格北侧开展。本观测数据隶属于北极观测网络(Arctic Observing Network, AON)-国际苔原实验(International Tundra Experiment, ITEX)计划,旨在记录高空间尺度下地表湿度与地表结构的季节变化特征。
